Today we are in my dining room. You haven't seen any rooms in my new house yet. So this will be your first peek. Eventually this room and the living room will have to be painted! We are busy just trying to get settled. The garage is a work in progress. The walls are finished and painted! It still needs to be unpacked. Mr. Sweetladyelaine has little time except for weekends.
The story of all of our lives, right????
The downstairs is unpacked, just little things to do like pictures, decorations etc.. The upstairs is overwhelming...............I am going through every box and putting it away or repacking it and putting it in the bedroom/storage room. Did I tell you I took a bedroom and I am making it into a storage room. No more going up those rickety stairs in the ceiling or garage for me! I own too much stuff! lol
What happened to downsizing you ask????? I did downsize!!!!!!
I bought a smaller house and got rid of lots, but you know more finds it's way in! I do think someone else must live here........stuff, stuff and more stuff! I just want it all organized so that when the warm weather gets here I can go swimming all afternoon. You will come and join me, won't you!
On to my dining room......
It is painted in a gray blue suede with lots of crown molding. Yes, that is my chandelier! I bring it with me wherever I go. I'll probably pack it in my coffin when I die. Oh wait a minute...............
I'm going to be cremated! Well, I guess my daughter will get it!
I just love the zebra chargers! I wanted them for so long. I just bought them in Hobby Lobby.
My dinner plates are Ridges by Living Quarters. The cream roses on the salad plate are so pretty. It says Royal Limited on the back. Both were bought at GW, I think.
Look at the roses on the salad plate. I only have four of these.
Pretty dessert plates
My feather tree bought with my friend Donna. I can't remember where I bought it, but it had to be New York. I know it was at a little antique shop.
I like to layer when I can.
A lace table cloth with a red satin one underneath, it falls to the floor.
A few extra shots that I thought were nice....
I made chocolate dipped strawberries......forgot to put them on the plate.
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine Day!
This will be our first year to go out in a long time.
I am looking forward to it.
I will be joining Susan at BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1Corinthians 13:4-7)
May you find love in all the right places!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!
Blessings My Friend,
Oh Elaine, your table setting for Valentine's is awesome! I love, love the zebra chargers too...swoon! I love all the romantic bling and the gorgeous chandy, (the one you will have to leave it to DD, lol)... with the hearts hanging from it! Happy Valentine's Season.

I ❤❤ your romantic table for two and all your special touches! We were married on Valentine's Day so it's always very special for us too. Enjoy Valentine's Day in your new home.
ReplyDeleteI also decided to use a spare bedroom for my storage room! I didn't start collecting china until I was over 50, with a bad knee, and the idea of going up and down stairs carrying heavy boxes of china was unappealing, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did for your Valentine chandelier.
I also use a spare bedroom for my storage room! After I turned 50, I developed an obsession for collecting vintage china, and the idea of going up and down stairs with heavy boxes was unappealing, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did for your Valentine chandelier.
Thanks Elizabeth for stopping by! When I do a table it takes me a few days to get it all together. My storage room is upstairs but I managed to hide all my dishes downstairs. I hate the climb too! I am not getting any younger and feel the pain. My obsession has been rising since I was sixteen! lol
DeleteWhat a beautiful table even without the chocolate covered strawberries - are you sure you didn't eat them??!!!
ReplyDeleteYour new dining room is lovely - that color of gray is so warm. I will be happy to join you for a swim - if summer ever comes - we are slated for 5 days of snow!
I had to laugh about being buried with the chandy. I have a better suggestion - build a mausoleum and hang it in there. Why didn't we ever think if that. The Egyptians would have - ha ha ha!
WOW!!! You know me too well.....no I really didn't eat them but was tempted! lol Why didn't I think about a mausoleum???? It probably meant more moving and I just can't go there right now! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteBlessings My Friend,
So someone is actually sneaking stuff INTO your house instead of out??? Sounds like the work of the infamous Reverse Burglar to me! He/She doesn't like for homes to be devoid of lots of goodies, so he/she makes sure you always have plenty on hand! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat zebra charger really spices up the table. Ooh la la!
I'm glad to see that you took your chandelier with you. I have done the same with mine. "Never leave home without it!" :-)
I hope you and hour husband enjoy your Valentine's evening out! Have fun!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! lol Thanks for stopping by......Happy Valentine's Day!
DeleteBlessings My Friend,
What a pretty table, Elaine! You must be the Queen of settling into new homes! I know you will enjoy decorating your house to make it "you"!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'm the Queen of moving but we sure have moved a lot since we got married! I do love the challenge of decorating! Have a great Valentine's Day!
DeleteBlessings My Friend,
A very pretty table. Love your dishes! And that tree is precious. And I would move that chandelier too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love it all. That tree is wonderful...
ReplyDeleteyour one reply sorta answered my question. Where did you move to ? Was it in the same area you lived in before. You shared you like to move (?) how often do you move? I like my roots grounded so moving is not my favorite. We have been in our home 31 years. We are Seniors and the yard is big. So we will have to gauge each yr. and enjoy the moment! Lovely home and the kitchen has a lot of space. Thank you
