My Wisdom for Today!

Hope you are having a terrific Monday!

Keep Reaching, Keep Dreaming, Keep Striving!

God knows your value; He sees your potential. You may not understand everything you are going through right now. But hold your head up high, knowing that God is in control and he has a great plan and purpose for your life. Your dreams may not have turned out exactly as you’d hoped, but the bible says that God’s ways are better and higher than our ways, even when everybody else rejects you, remember, God stands ...before you with His arms open wide. He always accepts you. He always confirms your value. God sees your two good moves! You are His prized possession. No matter what you go through in life, no matter how many disappointments you suffer, your value in God’s eyes always remains the same. You will always be the apple of His eye. He will never give up on you, so don’t give up on yourself

Change is good.....

I suppose...................................................................
Fall is here! In doors at least! lol
In Texas it is still hot, but the calendar says the middle of September.
I am finally getting it! We go by the calendar not the weather! lol
So............................................................
I pulled out my fall stuff, just a week before our Sunday bible study breakfast.
It gave me motivation to get it done!
It appears that I have a motivation problem lately!
But once I get going watch out!

This is the first time I left my centerpiece on the table throughout the whole breakfast.
Usually I take it off and later during dessert, put it back on or leave it off completely.
Do you leave yours on or do you take it off?
Maybe it depends on how you serve your food.
I always do family style.

Happiness is having sunflower placemats with vintage glassware.

I love the etching on the glassware.
I bought them at a Family Thrift Store.

Of course, we needed to have a water glass and a glass for mimosas
Both glasses came from Tuesday Morning a few years ago.

This is the vignette on my coffee table in the living room,
just opposite the dining room.

Another vignette in my kitchen on my white childhood dresser.

And finally my mantle!

Our menu for the breakfast was very simple:
Praline French Toast Casserole
Impossible Quiche
Italian sausage
Potato & Cheese Casserole
Fruit compote
Mimosas

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our fellowship together!

I forgot to take pictures of all of us. But that's the way it rolls here at the zoo!
Sometimes I get pictures and sometimes I don't!
Hope you got a little bit of inspiration here at Sweetladyelaine's!
Ya'll come back, ya hear!

Busy Bees Are We

Mr. Sweetladyelaine and I have been hanging pictures and rearranging! I moved to Texas last November and my walls have been blank all this time! So I thought I'd share a few new pictures.

This is my family room. I couldn't find a before!
I changed out my end tables & lamps and hung pictures.
Not totally complete but looks so much better!
Pictures really make a room don't they?!

Our Dining room before
An ugly suede blue...................

  Our Dining Room After
We painted and we  hung my grandmother's crazy quilts and a shelf underneath.
In the fall post I will show you close ups.

     Before in the Living room

    Our After Living Room
Mr. Sweetladyelaine painted the living room & hung pictures.
I have a matching chair to the one on the left,
but I put it in the family room so I can be comfortable with my back.
The rocker and ottoman I bought at a garage sale many years ago for $5.00!
I had it reupholstered and would love to change it again.

I still need to fix up the bedrooms upstairs.  I mean they are together just no pictures are hung on the walls, bathrooms are not together or cleaned for that matter! I am still playing with furniture. But that goes on daily, here, at The Zoo. Stay tuned for more! I decorated for fall!

Holding On.....Tight!

Yes, I am! To summer that is..........................
Couldn't help to set one more summer table.
Alive with gingham checks in red and white!
Stripes too!
And of course my favorite, lately, white plates!

It is still very hot in Texas with temps in the 90's I am not ready to let go!

I used oval Cafe Americana 98 bowls by Sango.
They were given to me by my friend, Shelley from Buffalo, New York.
And then white plates and my favorite summer  dishes "Set Sail" all on a round red placemat!

My centerpiece is very simple of flowers in a pitcher.
The pitcher came from a consignment store in IL.
I collect pitchers. That's why you see them on my tables a lot.
Found the big bowl at a thrift store and was so excited to use it with my Set Sail plates.

Vintage blue wine glasses given to me by my late cousin Georgia. They are special to me because she was the one that got me started going to garage sales and antique barns! I was sixteen!

I only have 4 plates and 4 bowls to my Cafe Americana, but guess what?
Found these two at My Family Thrift Store here in Spring!
They only had two and I bought them!

I have been trying to add to my pieces I already own and love!
Bought six of these last week at the same store! I have a few other pieces that match.

You're going to laugh when I tell you the only reason I bought this was because.......
It was cute and white! SOLD!!!!
Do you ever do that?

Thrifting my favorite thing to do! Bought lots last week!

I have had these corn dishes by Pfaltzgraff many years. The pattern is Yorktowne.
 I think I paid $2.00 a piece for them. I bought twelve.
I looked at the jar of corn holders and they are about thirty years old too!
Everything around here is getting old! lol

Here is the whole table!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my table set just for you! I did have fun setting this table!
I will try to keep my rambling about my love for thrifting to a minimum!
Like most bloggers I can't help it!
I love to hear about your thrifting experiences. Visit you soon! Please leave a comment!

Blessings My Friend,

If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. (Romans 12:20)

What we are required by God to do is to meet basic human needs of our enemy if and when those needs present themselves. We are to be courteous to them, speak kindly of them, and refuse to criticize them.
