Come Join me for tea......

I am so happy you stopped by on Tablescape Thursday to enjoy a few minutes of girl chatter and a cup of tea with me. I was looking forward to this day all week....I am a little excited to show you a tea set I found at a garage sale some 20 years ago. I love this set!

This is a close up of the design. Did I tell you it has the initials Mix written on the bottom of the teapot but nothing on anything else. I have no idea who made it. Do you?
I usually have tea in my living room on a little table my husband brought back from India a few years ago. The marble comes from the Taj Mahal. Each peice is hand crafted without the use of any electric tools. They are inlaid with gem stones and shells. The glue that holds them together is a family recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation.

This is a close up. See how the flowers shine. You know I love shiney...

This is home for my tea set. My father told me he worked for two days in order for the guy to give it to him. It has green trim and gold knobs. It sits in the corner of my dining room. I treasure it! When I was little, it sat in the corner of my mom's sewing room with her crystal dishes in it! It makes me happy to know that I have things I remember growing up with!
Well, I hope you have enjoyed our Korean ginseng tea and my chatter! Come back again...I loved talking to you!
Blessings my friend!

Thank you...
Between Naps On The Porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday.

I Think I Got Carried Away....

Well, I started at 11:00 and ended about 3:00! What a wonderful time I had! You are probably wondering what I was doing......

I think I will keep you guessing...
This young man is my nephew Michael who just graduated from High School. This picture was taken at his senior outing. I love Michael to death! He is such a quiet, thoughtful young man. I am so proud of him!

Michael rides a motorcycle and owns a little truck too! He is the youngest of three.
The reason that I bring this up...is because Michael is the reason I was busy for hours.

I was baking for Michael!!!!

WHAT??????

His favorite cookies of course!!!!!!!

Michael likes my chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies!

So...I decided to make him a few!

I hope he loves them as much as I love him!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS MICHAEL!!!

My First Tablescape Thursday......

I am so excited to be participating in Tablescape Thursday! My very, very First!!!!! A big THANK YOU to BNOTP! I must admit it took me a longggggggggg time to put this together...I don't have the knack of it yet, but I will! I had fun doing it and that's all that mattered to me! Hope you like it! We are having LUNCH in our family room.

This is our family room looking out on our backyard. If you look through the window you will see our pond that my husband built in 2005. I will show you pictures of the pond in a future post. I love drinking coffee in the morning or eating lunch here, like we are today!  I feel like I'm part of nature! The sun is shining and it is bright and beautiful! Let's sit down and I will tell you about my place settings.

I buy things that I fall in love with! The minute I saw these dishes at Goodwill I had to have them! I love roses and pink! Can you see the gold edging around the flowers? I love the shape of the plates..... They are made by the Edwin M. Knowles China Company in June of 1936.
I wanted to tell you...a little of the history of our table. It was in my parents cellar for years! My mom had it refinished and gave it to me before we moved to IL. As children we played school in the cellar. I have hours of fond memories teaching the neighborhood children on it!

I'm not sure if you can see the gold rim on the drinking glasses. I bought these at the Dollar Store some time ago. The wine glasses are from Tuesday Morning. I can't remember the pattern. The gold silverware was bought in Canada. The placemats...are you ready????? Are plastic! I think they are pretty!

The wine is homemade by my Dad who passed away in April. I have a close up of the label in another picture. My husband and I bought the labels for my Dad for Christmas 2009 from Let's Do Wine located  in the Buffalo area.

The vase was bought at a favorite shop, Hobby Lobby in IL. It has tiny roses all the way around it. My beautiful  roses came off my buffet in the dining room.
I wish I had taken a closer picture of the wine bottle! The label was custom made with the inscription...
" The Zampella Winery the Finest Wine On Cullen Avenue"
Zinfandel
2009 Zampella Cellars
Schenectady, New York

I hope you have enjoyed our little chat during lunch.... it went very fast...I would love to have you over again.....please come back again! You don't need an invitation.....just come visit anytime.
If you have any suggestions for me.....please let me know.
Blessings my friends,

My Creations.....My Passion

I have been making jewelry for about a year.... for fun!

This is a pretty one!!!!!!
My husband picked out the beads and I designed the piece. It has turned out to be one of my favorites!

I only work with glass beads and I love shiny! So all my creations are just that...SHINY!

You can hopefully see that the quartz beads are a smokey color and the light colored ones are pink, my favorite color! In the light they are all glittery!

This one has turquoise beads with a little black line running through them, and a little silver rose bud or a silver bead in between the beads! The rectangle pendent is opalescent and is beautiful in the sun.

The pretty blue beads with specks of yellow on the bead....makes a choker for any occasion. The round pendent has a blue flower in the middle. I wish I was a better photographer! I am still learning so be kind to me.
I love this one because it looks like stones! The irregular black beads and little silver flower beads just set this piece off!
I hope you have enjoyed the few pieces I have shown you.....I have many more!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come again to visit me! Until later...
 BLESSINGS MY FRIENDS!

My Memorial Treat

A little late but....I just wanted to share with you what I made for dessert for our Memorial Day gathering at  our neighbors house! It is so simple and tastes soooo wonderful. It is always a hit...you have to make one. I used fat free chocolate pudding, whipped creme, sponge cake and strawberries. I layered each ingredient all the way to the top making sure the whipped  creme was last. It can be done with any combination of puddings or yogurt, sponge cake or pound cake, strawberries or any fruit you like. Everyone loves it and they always ask me to make it again and again.

WELCOME!!!!!

Welcome! So glad you stopped by Sweetladyelaine's! I am so excited that my site is coming along. It took me forever to figure out how to add pictures and get it to look like something. You'll have to excuse me... I am learning. Hopefully each day I will share more and more with you like recipes, antiques, tablescapes, dreams, hopes and thoughts. I follow a great bunch of blogs and hope to participate in some of their activities. I am just so happy to sharing with all of you.
I hope you will allow me to share my faith in Jesus with you too. I spend time with God every morning and this morning I read 1 John 2:15-17. It said "Do Not Love the World". We are to live in the world but not get caught up in its ways. I thought about that a long time. I realized it is very easy to get caught up in it. It's pleasures are everywhere. Are they really pleasures? I don't know about you but I often get tired hearing the news! It seems like people can't say no to ourselves or our children. We get caught up in stealing, cheating, killing, fighting and anger way too much. It has to stop...but where? I think the answer is prayer. The Bible says, "The world and its desires will pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever"(1 John 2:17). I follow Christ because I know He has saved me from a wretched life! I'm not saying its easy but.. one day at a time... one step at a time, I walk to win my prize of eternal life with Christ! I am praying for all of you. Have a happy day!

My Very First Post

I decided to blog because I have read so many of yours and have really enjoyed them. I hope to be able to share my thoughts and beliefs with you. I will let God take control and we will see where this goes.
