I Love Another

I know it happens.......... I am  just a little bit tired of not being able to do what I want to do.
Frustrated!
I need a little freedom. More room!
Always doing the same thing week after week........................................it doesn't end!
Kind of like doing the laundry. Yuck!
My love will never  go away.............................I'm a little bored.  I tried new things.
But the romance is just not there this week!
Kind of!

No, I would never give up my dishes! My heart still loves tablescaping! Silly!
I am trying to cleaning out my book shelf ! Well, actually cookbooks right now.
I already cleaned out my school stuff.
NOW cookbooks, then bible study stuff and last my books. I may not do the last one! LOL
I love to cook almost as much as I love setting tables.
I love to do lots of different things!
I do alot, I just happen not to share everything!
I am not sure why.  Most times it's because I forget to take pictures until its all over or I'm finished!

So my dilemma today is what to keep............................................
I emptied all the cookbooks I need to look through.

I want to keep all these!

These are the problem!

I absolutely love all of my Taste of Home magazines. It has great recipes.
I do have a few favorites I have kept over the years in my notebook.
I will have to show you that too! I have all of the year 2012 and a few of 2013.
I throughout all of the ones before 2012 in 2012! LOL

Another favorite is my little Italian cookbook.
I have made several of the recipes and will never get rid of it!
So it stays on the shelf.

This is another favorite because my daughter used this to learn to cook.
She isn't married and doesn't have any children......so that theory went out the window! LOL
 How we save!

These are pamphlets that are not made any more......I can see where I am going with all this!
I will be saving more than I care too! LOL

Your wondering why am I doing this? I haven't the fainest idea!
I just think I'm 62 and it's time to clean out the paper mess.
I maybe moving again and I am carrying all this extra stuff!
Is it just me? I never use half of it!

Well, while I am waiting for your answers.................................................................
I think I'll show you how I save my favorite recipes. You know the ones I make alot!
I use a pink binder to hold everything.

All the recipes are in sleeves.
I bought them at Office Max.
I take out the sleeve, make the recipe, wipe it off and put it back in my pink binder.
All nice and clean. A great way not to loose your favorites!

So where am I with all this mess? Right back where I started! LOL

I think I'll sell what I absolutely don't want and take it from there.
If I can just weed out a little at a time, all might be well.
Meanwhile I will wait for suggestions from you.....................................

Friday, February 13th!!!

Most people dread Friday the 13th but I never do.
I am not superstitious at all.
Plus, we were not suppose to buy anything for each other for Valentine's Day.
So,  I did not expect Mr. Sweetladyelaine to come home after his workout with lovely red roses.
Of course being who I am, I had to redo my buffet in the kitchen
and set a table!
Did I say bake too!
I decided to use my mercury turquoise vase and everything just took off from there.
Take a look!!!!!!

I just had to make a chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a heart.
I was going to pipe some chocolate frosting around the edge but decided we didn't need the extra sweetness (calories). Mr. Sweetladyelaine deserved my heart after the beautiful roses!

Once that was all finished I began on the table............
I set two different place settings because I couldn't decide which one I liked best.
The difference is the white salad bowl and the placement of the napkin.

Glasses bought at Tuesday Morning a few years back.

The dishes have their maker's name etched off, so I can't tell you anything about them.
Not sure why they did that, but I bought them at a thrift store in Illinois.

Centerpiece is a simple turquoise hurricane with a candle and beads set on a filigree mirror.
I bought the hurricane in Kirkland's last summer for outside.

A final look at the whole table.

Thank you for stopping by! I love when you visit and leave a comment. I do try to get around to as many tablescapes and blogs as I can. I need my weekly dose of  your blogs. They keep me alive and always thinking! Thank you for your inspirations.

Have a great week until my next post!

I'm Late, I'm late......

For a very important date with you my friends!

The last few days in Texas have been beautiful! I am a summer girl myself! I am dying to get into my pool! Are you like me and love to lay by the poolside?
Anyway, I must move on........

The inspiration for this table were gifts! Rosie was cleaning out Chrissey's mom's house. She asked me if I want the few teacups & dishes she found. Of course, a dishaholic never says NO! LOL
I used only the dinner dishes. I'll save the teacups for another post.

So I got started and created this lovely table for you!
I started out with a blue green charger. The dinner dish is by Pope Gosser "Rose point".

Here is see my favorite, (they're all my favorite) Knowles china. I forgot the pattern.
Also thrifted.

The bowl is Sorbet. I have four of these and bought them while out thrifting awhile back.

Each placesetting had a different colored napkin.

 I used my fold flatware.

The glasses are from Tueday morning.

The rose are napkin holders used for color.

I love this centerpiece! It is very hard to take pictures of it. I bought it at The Thrift Store.
One of my favorite places in Spring.

I had the place settings on each side of the table but then switched to having them across from one another. I like it much better. Tried to download a picture but my computer is being temperamental!

Have a great week!

Thanks for stopping by.............

A prayer of Blessings for you my friends.
May the Lord bless you and protect you
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.

Vignettes Are Good For My Soul

I have been doing alot of soul searching lately so my blog has not been my top priority.
Our life has been in the process of changing the past few months.
I am not sure what God is doing, but I know He is working!
I am waiting patiently and crazy at the same time.
Another change for me and I'm not very good with change.
So what do I do when I have time to myself and hubby is quietly upstairs working?
I drag out lots of stuff and start decorating! I love it!
I find myself in my happy place!
I change whatever I want to redo.......Sometimes I change it for just a few days.........
Sometimes I love it and it stays for a long, long time.
Do you have a happy place?
Do you change with just the seasons or any time the spirit moves you?

I change any time I feel the need! Today I will show you my mantle and my kitchen vignette.
Nothing big or outrageous! Just a little different.
I love candlesticks and thought of putting a lot of different candles on my mantle.
I own quite a few crystal candlesticks.
Well, I did that and didn't have enough colored candles. It looked to plain and no color.
Sooooooooooooooo
The roses in our yard have been really pretty. I decided to do something with them.

I have saved a few fancy bottles from flavored vinegar and oil.
Here's how it turned out!
A little simple for me but sometimes that's a good thing!

I am sure I will change it when the roses die or add to it.
I do that sometimes!
I look at something for a long time and start to add to it. Fluff it! lol

Moving on to the kitchen.......
This is my favorite spot to decorate.

A pretty lavender teapot with a pretty handkerchief on a cakeplate. A Thrift Store find.
Really everything in my house is from Goodwill, a Thrift Store, Consignment Store or a Flea Market  of some kind.
The lamp & crystal candlesticks are too!
I'm getting older that I can't remember exactly where each piece was bought. lol

A cute story: I made twelve of the bundt banana muffins a few days ago. I had shared a four with neighbors and put the rest in plates on the counter. I had two on this plate too.
Before I could take the picture........ Notice only one is left. Mr. Sweetladyelaine ate the other one!

I tried a black and white photo for the candle! It turned out pretty good
Don't you think? I guess there is a first time for everything.

The way I look at it,  any day above ground is a good one!
Come back soon, I'll be here with bells on my toes, or in my ears!

Blessings My Friend,
