Happy Fall......

My husband received this from a friend in Buffalo. I thought I would share this today!

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"
The co-worker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts the light of Jesus inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

Sunflowers & Pumpkins

Hi Everyone!
I was riding around yesterday and coveting all the fall doors and thought I'd share of few with you. Maybe ideas for later or next year!

This is my neighbor's house.....not a front door but I love it! She changes the chair with the season.

A simple but pretty front door.

This is the other part of the picture above.

This is my next door neighbor, Ruby's house!

I took this one because I loved all the flowers.

I don't decorate for Halloween but for Fall. I hope this got you in the mood to look at my pretty tablescape.

My inspiration for this week are the sunflower placemats I bought at Walmart, last week!
In my moment of weakness....... Be still my heart!

My chargers I used last Thursday....another weakness, that I LOVE!!!!!!
A side view of all the plates.

The white pleated plates I bought at Goodwill in Buffalo, NY. They are made by Living Quarters.
The pattern is Ridges. The green plates I bought at Homegoods in Houston. They are made by Artistic Accents. Made in Portugal.
Sunflowers make my heart sing! What about you?

I love white pumpkins! Have you noticed, I use alot of cake plates all over my house!

My Aunt Elaine painted the tray for me years ago. It is the only thing I own that have sunflowers on it.
I get to look at these happy souls every morning having coffee!
A close up of the tray.....
The napkins are from Walmart.....I put a green one inside for a two tone effect.

I love setting the table and being creative! I hope you enjoyed my little tour of fall doors and my table.
Come back and visit.
Be sure to visit all the other beautiful tablescapes over at Susan's at Between Naps on the Porch.

Blessings My Friend,

Oh dear! What did I do???????

I went to Walmart to pick up a few grocery items and do you know what I came home with??????
Take a look at my tablescape and see if you can tell.........

We are in my kitchen. It has been quite breezy here today. I am enjoying the New York like weather! lol Can you tell I miss New York?

A fall charger......

Bella Lux "Alexandra Gold", I bought them in Marshall's. I love how the light dances off the gold and sparkles!

I bought the pumpkin dessert plates in Walmart in Buffalo. I used them for our LifeLinks church group.

I love this view.....

I really liked this centerpiece.....I shaped a swag into an "S" shape and put the candlesticks in between.
The candlesticks were a housewarming gift from my dear friend in Buffalo, Carol.

Salt and Pepper shakers and a gold votive.
The votives are from the Christmas Tree Shoppe in Buffalo, NY. I do miss that store!

Ok, I am not going to keep you in suspense.....I went crazy, I couldn't help it! I haven't bought anything for my tablescapes in such a long time! I couldn't resist! My husband doesn't even know......

I bought the six placemats, six chargers, the white pumpkins and the salt and pepper shakers. WOW! When I said it outloud, it didn't sound like very much!!!!! Oh I forgot, the napkins! lol
I really love everything I bought! I am thrilled but always feel a little guilty I spent so much. I am so use to bargain hunting.
Does anyone else feel like me? I try to be practical, but sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do!
I did!!!!!

Fall Is Coming To Our Backyard

The header picture looks different from this one....that one was taken in the Spring and now you can see what it looks like in the beginning of Fall.

You know my family looks at Sweetladyelaine to see what's going on in Texas!

That is our bedroom window.... The chairs are always in the sun! Our house is an "L" shape.

This is the garden behind the diving board.  We have alot of mature trees in our yard. Beyond our pool is another lot for our dogs to play.

Another picture of the other end of the garden. Angels Trumpets and azalea's are starting to bloom again.

I love lounging in these chairs....so quiet and comfortable.

Here is our only palm tree! I love palm trees! We bought the one in the pot (above picture) when we first got here.
It has grown quite a bit.

You can see part of this tree in the picture above...roses, roses and more roses.
My evil squirrels watch over our yard! Can you see him hiding?

This is facing the house. I should have uncovered the chairs.....You can see the diving board in the lower corner. Our covered porch comes in handy when we need to get out of the sun. I love the sun so most of our chairs are in full sun.

I hope you liked looking at my backyard. I'd love to see yours! I am curious as to what people do in their yards. My husband and I love being in our backyard. It is so peaceful for us. We love having people over to swim and barbecue. I think summer was so short in New York we always made the most of summer. I know we will do the same in Illinois!

Update: We have not sold our house and YES!!! I have been looking at houses online. I am looking for a newer house built from 1990 -2011, a master suite, 3 bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms, 3 car garage and of course a pretty backyard! I am sure God will find us the right house, right after He sells this one!

Thank you for stopping by.....

It's 86 degrees and Fall!!!!!

I know you think I'm crazy but it is hot here according to Sweetladyelaine! This is a cool down for Texans...believe it or not! It has been a hot, hot, record breaking summer!
This New Yorker-Texan will be sad to leave this weather and my beautiful pool.......I have enjoyed this hot, hot record breaking summer!!!!
With that in mind, I am celebrating a cool 86 degrees today........
I even disobeyed our realtor and got out some pumpkins...Yes, I am naughty but I have a few weeks to redeem myself before Santa gets wind of it! lol

The placemat is a microfiber towel folded in half from Walmart.

This pretty yellow plate was bought at Marshall's. It is Sweet Olive Designs, Fancy Scroll Collection by Jane Adams.

This plate was  bought at Goodwill in Buffalo. On the back of the plate it says Tam O'Shanter, Vernonware.

I bought the bowl or dipping dish at a Family Dollar Store for $1.29.

A side view....The charger I bought at "Something Special", the proceeds go to a women's shelter.

I changed my centerpiece in the middle of my picture taking. I like this one better. My husband doesn't like the centerpiece in the middle of the table "That's where the food goes". If I was doing a bigger table, I would put it in the center with candles and pumpkins all around it.

A Dollar Store find.

The last picture is of my fireplace. The basket was suppose to go on the front door but my hanger is too high
and I am too tired to change it.......by the way it is a "Command" hook.

I want to thank Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday. Please stop by and see all the beautiful tablescapes.....I know my friends have spend time and effort on them.

Thank you for visiting me today I appreciate all your kind words so please leave a comment.
