A Peek into My Kitchen!

Yes, I said a peek! It is not decorated or anything. I am lucky I have my furniture in place, my dishes hidden  and the pantry somewhat organized. I think its going to take me along time in this house. I can't seem to pull it all together. That's new to me, so I am somewhat bewildered. I usually move in and put everything in place and then decorate. Without a problem. Here, I seem to keep moving furniture around and around! lol  Nothing is fitting and I have way too much furniture!
You can see my kitchen is very plain. I did put some pottery on the top of the cabinets. I am just stumped at this point!

My round oak table is to the right of me.  This is an everyday table, set for Mr. Sweetladyelaine and I.

A very simple table with a round black & silver placemat.
Black & White dinner plates from the GW in Illinois.
My favorite white pleated  plate from GW
and a fun red & white bowl from Michael's a few years back.

My camera has about had it since I dropped it.
It is hard to take pictures.
Sometimes it takes me a few minutes for it to even work!!!
I have asked for a new one for my birthday in May.
                                                           Any suggestions?????
                                                 I have a Nikon D3000.
I did like it, but I found looking through the eye thing was sometimes hard.
So a hunting I will go and see what I find.

If you read my last post I am debating whether to put the clock on the wall or a rectangle gold mirror.
To the left you can see a bit of the door that leads to the garage. Behind the chair on the right are two windows.

I love the clock! It has a little bling on it!
And you know I am all about bling!

                                                              A toast for two!
Glasses my mom sent me a few years back.
A rose mirror that I painted gold & black.
I can see that I am definitely like gold touches!

What did I serve for dinner????? Your going to laugh......
Mr. Sweetladyelaine wanted chili dogs. I never had one or made one before.
I think they turned out pretty good.

I hope you enjoyed your little peek. As I get things in place I will show you more.
My next project is the half bathroom. I want to paint the framed mirror.
Then I will decide what to do next. One step at a time is my motto!

Hope you join in me my new adventure. I am slow, so stick with me!
I am thrilled to be blogging again. I miss you all!

Thanks for stopping by!
I will be joining Susan at BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday

Blessings My Sweet Friend,

  1. I love your kitchen, I think it's fabulous and looks so pretty with the things you have on it already. Yea, we never stop decorating no matter how long we live in the same house, anyway...so just go ahead and don't stop, lol!
Have a lovely Valentine's in that adorable table setting.

  3. It takes me forever to get the hang of a new space! We've been in our house for sixteen years and I only just now feel like it's coming together. Sad I know. Your dog dinner looks delicious to me! I hope you enjoy Valentine's Day!

  4. Whoa! Wait a minute! Hold the phone!!! You never had a CHILI DOG?!??!?!?!!! Seriously?!??!?! ELAINE!!! I can just barely fathom that! Chili dogs have been a part of my life for a LOT of years...hence the "Oprah arms" I have! :-) Oh, my goodness! I'm glad your husband requested them so that you could get a taste of that little bit of heaven! I like mine with provolone cheese, chopped onion and mustard. Mmmmm....makes my mouth water just thinkin' about it!!!

I'm sorry you're having trouble adjusting. I know it must really be frustrating, especially if you've been able to get it together so quickly in the past. This might be a good thing, though. Maybe it's a sign that you are supposed to slow it down, evaluate over and over and THEN act so that you don't make any decorating mistakes you'll regret. I get blocked like that sometimes, too, and I have to just remember that it's not going anywhere, so I can just take my time. Tough to do sometimes, but it pays off in the end!

You set a really nice table for that chili dog dinner! I'm glad you guys enjoyed. Happy Valentine's Day!

    1. I have Oprah arms too and their not from chili dogs! LOL I will serve them from now on.......thanks for following me Alycia. I love your comments and always listen to your advice. It makes me think! Thank you!
Moving is a great experience and I get to clean out and de-clutter every few years so there are pluses! I am loving the weather here and all the great shopping. I think its taking me so long to decorate because I rather play! lol My friend and I go shopping every week! I hope you had a great Valentine's Day.

  5. Love your kitchen! I have always had gas ranges, so I would have to adjust to electric!. Can't wait to see more of your home.
    Have a great weekend, Elaine.

    1. Thanks for following me, Marigene! My stove is electric but it is an induction stove top. I couldn't use any of my copper bottom pans on it so I had to buy at least one new skillet. I do need a few more but I am dealing with it for now. I am just getting use to it and it is ok. I prefer gas, like you! I end up with whatever is in the house we purchase. Because we move so much I tend to be content with whatever God gives me!

  6. What a gorgeous kitchen! I am sure that it won't take any time at all to figure out where things belong and you two will get along just fine! Your placesetting is adorable - the heart placemats are just perfect with your other finds. Moving is an adjustment. Just take your time and everything will work out. Happy Valentine's Day. (worse than a chili dog, my husband's favorite food is Banquet Salisbury Steaks - which I don't think are even constructed from food).
