OCCUPIED!!!!!!!!!!

This is sort of a strange title but its how I've been feeling lately. Occupied!
I didn't set a full table this week, only a vignette. I have been occupied and ran out of time!
Plus these gorgeous teacups are Noritake, from Occupied Japan!

I wasn't quite sure about the meaning behind "Occupied Japan" so I looked it up.
I thought I'd share it with you.
Occupied Japan is a term used for the time period from 1945 (after World War II) through April 25, 1952; it was during this time that the Allies "occupied" Japan. Japan needed to rebuild their economy after the war, part of the agreement to allow them to export goods out of their country. But there was a catch, they had to mark 50% of all items with "Occupied Japan" or "Made in Occupied Japan."
This could be done with a paper label, cloth label (as on scarves, doilies, clothing), engraved, handwritten or stamped.

A little history lesson long with tablescaping....................... who knew!
On to my beautiful cups!

This crystal creamer were a gift from my Aunt Moni years ago.

And the sugar bowl and teaspoons were a gift from my friend, Gretchen & my Uncle Chip.
The sugar bowl & creamer match! I was lucky!

I use them alot!

A new thrift item is this pretty pitcher.....I loved the scrolling!
And it is blue & white, my favorite!

Another treasure.........I hold dear. My Aunt Emily gave me this perfume bottle years ago!

When I spotted this lustreware teapot at The Thrift Store, I had to have it!
So many of you were doing lilac tablescapes. (That's the actual name of the store)
Are you like that?
The teapot is sitting on hand-painted plates made in  Japan.

My birdies are sitting on Goodwill plates that only say "Royal limited", on the back.
They have roses all around.....

I have only four of these pretty cups. I didn't look them up yet either. I will in due time!

Isn't she pretty? That my Swarvorski bracelet she is wearing!

A full picture of the whole table.

Well, I certainly have pulled out all the thrift store stuff today. Glad you stopped by for a peek!
I will be looking forward to hearing from you.........

What happens when a dishaholic plays with jewelry?

A new necklace & earrings are born!

But wait....I tried to make napkin rings too!
I call  them inspiration!
I'm not super happy with them, I wanted them to be a little more fancy.
But I will keep trying!

This tablescape is exciting for me today. I was given some dishes and I love them. Funny how things work out. I bought the pink, Premiere, "April Rose" china at The Thrift Store. While I was there I saw salad plates and big bowls that were green. Not this green a little more limey.  I couldn't decide and I couldn't buy both. So I decided to buy none of them. Remember we are on a tight budget!

When I came home, Rosie, my friend called to say she had dishes for me! These cute little Wood & Sons dessert plates! I consider that a God moment!A shout goes out to Rosie for the dishes she has been finding for me!

I love my teacups so I added them to the plates!

The chargers are metal and I found them at "Something Special".
A  store that supports battered women!
I feel like I am giving back and recycling at the same time.

The tablecloth is also a Thrift Store purchase.

My glasses are also a thrift find. They are not vintage......

My daughter gave me this teapot for Mother's Day one year.
The little plate I bought at The Thrift Store.
I had planned to hang it on on my dining room wall but you see how well that worked out! lol

Finally my centerpiece. Rum Rill is the maker of the vase.
All is time I thought my mom had made it! I never looked on the bottom until now! LOL
I am shocked!

A view of the whole table!

I enjoyed setting this table! Thank you for stopping by......

A Spring Mantle

Forgot to post this last week. The weather in Spring Texas has been cloudy so pictures are not as pretty and bright.
The candelabras are from a consignment ship in Dallas.
The green vase, which I love, love is from my favorite Thrift Store here in Houston!

Have a great weekend!
Blessings My Friend,
