Christmas & Christmas Eve

Just wanted to post my tables for Christmas and Christmas Eve. It was a cozy dinner for two on both days. Actually our first holiday alone. I just made sure I set the table pretty and had a very simple dinner planned because we did not want too many leftovers.

Christmas Eve has been celebrated in our family forever....first with my moms family. As my cousins had children, we decided to celebrate with our own families. My mom was the twelfth child. I have 31 first cousins not counting their spouses. We just got too big!
We celebrate the Feast of the  Seven Fishes. My sister in law hosts Christmas Eve....it is not unusual for her to have twenty or more people.
Since it was just the two of us, we decided to have just what we each could not do without!  I made an antipasto, shrimp cocktails and anchovies with spaghetti. There is an Italian name for the spaghetti but I don't know how to spell it. lol

Christmas Eve

The dishes are Haviland.

Christmas Day

Country Roses dishes.....

I liked the centerpiece I used. I put a rose in each cruet with  mismatched candlesticks. Each candlestick had a white ribbon with gold edges and tied into a bow.

A big thank you to my husband for taking these pictures. I was busy preparing our food and he did the honors.

I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Please leave a comment and Come back and visit. I will be moving this coming week. I will take pictures of our move. This time it won't be a trip across the country, just a state or two!

Blessings My Friend,

  1. Your tables are lovely, and I believe the dish you made is pasta aligi - my friend's husband makes it every Christmas Eve. All the best on your move, can't wait to see the photos. xo

  4. Happy New Year! I love your tables...but especially the OCR (my favorite pattern). I used mine for New Years...great minds???

I'm sure it was different to be the two of you after such previously busy holidays, but I'm sure it was romantic and cozy.

  6. What pretty tables for just the two of you! I know you two enjoyed having a peaceful Christmas together. Best wishes on your move -- not fun, but I hope the new place will make up for it! (I also have 31 first cousins on my mom's side -- none on my dad's, as he's an only child.)
