It Says Fall....Really????......

Hi Everyone,
I guess according to the calendar it is fall, but at 96 degrees in Texas it hardly feels it! I just can't get into the swing of it. Everyone is wearing fall colors and I am still into shorts and pink! I think I am still on New York time, soon to be on Illinois time.
Plus I can't decorate my house for fall so that makes it all the worse. My house is for sale and you shouldn't show any personal stuff!
So here is my attempt on a not feeling like fall table! LOL

This is a week night table for hubby and me.
I love these napkins! I bought the napkins at a thrift store but used them here as placemats.

All the dishes are from Goodwill......

I bought the white rose plates and soup bowl in Buffalo, NY.

I bought two gold plates and two navy blue plates in Houston at Goodwill.

This is the napkin! I just thought it was so pretty and screamed fall to me. I don't have anything fall. I just used my Yorktowne dishes for everything and had a nice fall centerpiece. Joining TT I have bought a few things here and there.

Pine cones I picked up in my yard.

The candles I bought at the Dollar Store. I broke one carrying it to the table!

My centerpiece is simple. A cobalt blue plate on top of a silver candy dish with a berry wreath and a orange cranberry candle. It smells yummie!!!!

Thank you for stopping by and stay tuned for the move! Hopefully we will sell our house fast! I am hoping to move by Thanksgiving so I can decorate this year for Christmas! It is so hard moving near the holidays!

Thank you to Susan for hosting Tablescape Thursday! Do stop by her blog Between Naps On The Porch to visit all the beautiful tablescapes for this week.

Thank you to all my blogging friends who have stopped by I appreciate your kind comments.
Remember if you need prayer, drop me a line or leave it on the comment page.

Blessings My Friend,

  1. Elaine, it is hard to get into the fall mood when the temps stay in the 90's...I remember those days from living in Phoenix for so many years! Are you getting excited about moving to Indiana?...it's a whole lot closer to NY and weather you were used to.
Your lovely table at least looks fallish, even if it still feels like summer!

  3. Wow...you are moving again? Hope your house sells quickly and you get to Illinois before the holidays! Your "simple" table is lovely and certainly seems to be a plus in showing your house. It that white plate Royal Albert Old English Garden? Love those dishes.

    Good luck with your move!

  7. Hi, Elaine! Very nice fall table for two! I'm glad to see that you're still blogging even though the real estate Nazis make you take everything down and out. I hope you are excited about moving? Are you ready to face that cold, blustery Midwestern winter weather again? I've gotten so used to it that I hardly think of it anymore except when my husband has to get out and drive in it. That's when I get all nervous and weird. (Although most would agree I'm already nervous and weird!) I'm sending good karma your way so that your house gets sold in the blink of an eye. I want you to be able to get settled in your new home and be able to get festive for the holidays! Have a great weekend!

  8. First, sending you hope and prayers on the house sale. I hate being "on hold". Your table is just right for that casual weeknight dinner. I can't imagine 90 degrees in the fall. It is much cooler up here in Ohio, easier to adjust to the Autumn colors!

  9. It's hard to feel fallish without crisp weather....isn't it? And I imagine it's even stranger when you've lived in NY. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming move. My daughter-in-law is from Indiana -- they live in Atlanta and she still misses all the snow.

  10. Those napkins/placemats are gorgeous! I love the mix of plates and colors. As a stager, I appreciate your willingness to keep your home neutral, but I know it's not easy! :)

  11. Wonderful mix of plates with your beautiful napkins. I'm sure that you'll use them often. I hope that your house sells quickly, so you can quickly be in a situation that allows you to once again "feather your nest." Cherry Kay

I hope you are able to get moved and settled in before Christmas! I know how hard that is too. Anyway, it would be great to sit and chat with you also!! Always look forward to your visits!!
