Oh What a Beautiful Morning .......

Since we have moved to Texas we have been bound and determined to discover new things. This past weekend my husband and I went to Old  Town Spring.

Old Spring was first occupied by the Orcoquisac Indians who traded with the French and later the Spaniards.
In the early 1800's settlers began to make their way to the area, increasing trade and growth of the Spring area. Colonization began to flourish after Texas won its Independence from Mexico in 1836. Houston was founded the same year! In 1845 Texas became part of the US and homestead farming brought more growth to the area by German Settlers. After the Civil War more railroads were laid and rapid industrialization began for the Houston area. Spring was named by railroad workers who were laying tracks to the south during a harsh winter. When they reached the area it was Springtime and they were so excited about winter ending they named it "Camp Spring". In 1873, "Camp" was dropped and Spring became the base operation for railroad workers. This stimulated abundant growth for lumber companies and farmers and created jobs and opportunities for new immigrants to the area.

So that is the beginning of this cute town....fascinating I think!
What did we discover when we went there!
                              150 shops!!!!!!
Each one offering unique merchandise from all over the world. It has Antiques, Collectibles, Clothes, Home Decor, Crafts, Speciality Items, Gifts, and wonderful Eateries!

I thought I would share a little bit of Old Town Spring with you and a little antiques shop I really liked.

You know, I forgot my camera and my husband had to go and get it.....The shops were fun, clean and family friendly.

This is The Amish Barn. Gorgeous furniture......

A beautiful store.....

The owner was so knowledgeable....lots of iron pieces! We enjoyed talking with him.

Sam's Antiques was another wonderful store....yellow building!
Sam, his wife and children were a delight!

A Louis the XV dresser that caught our eye.

A Hat Store.......

My favorite store......Do you know why???????

A Welcoming Porch.....Like Susan's...BNOTP!
(Between Naps On The Porch)

I am in love with porches....lots of garden accessories!

Did you think I forgot about Tablescape Thursday?????? Never!

I can just picture a handsome gentleman or an elegant lady sitting here on a sunny day reading their Bible and drinking a cup of tea.

How about enjoying a cup of tea?

A pretty tea set for tea lovers!

This store had so many pretty things! I could have bought tons....
I loved the top of this dresser.

I am sooo Tired......

I decided to take five! Would you like to join me? I have been  working on the guest rooms upstairs. I do see progress but it is long in the making. I am on snail.......

This is the green room ........

Have you ever felt like, do I have too????? Oh, I have felt this way since we moved in. I am not motivated to do the upstairs. Forget about painting... I don't even want to unpack the stuff!
Too much!!!!!

This is the tan room.....

You can see my teacups on the shelf...still not unpacked.

Not only do we own too much, what should I do with it all???? Do I save, throw or hide????? Those are the questions!

This is the bathroom.....

You see.... we move often, about every 3-5 years. It is impossible to buy new things every time, so I have to make do with what I have. What if I need it in the next house.
What to do, what to do.....

The third bedroom.....

So, now that I gave you a peek at the mess upstairs.......

Let's go downstairs and have some tea!

I'm not sure what to call this room...formal living room?  Put together room? Blue room????

Anyway...let's sit down and rest. I am exhausted!!
I made us a sweet dessert....a strawberry & cream trifle.

I love the tea set. I bought it in Marshall's. I also bought two dinner plates. I hope to add on to this set.

The wine glasses are a Goodwill find in Buffalo. I think they are beautiful! I believe in using everything you own. No rules! Life is too short to save pretty.

I love the Gold and White together and how it glistens!

I hope you feel spoiled and appreciated! I think setting a special table for a friend let's her know that you love her. And we all need to be loved. So if you have a special friend, go the extra mile and set her a beautiful table! She will love it!

I thought you might like a close up of my couch. Are you ready to hear about it?

It's a little dusty.....the fabric is a light peach with blue dots? It looks nice in this room?
No, No! Where did I buy it, you ask???????

                             I bought it at Goodwill!

Should I tell you the price??????
No..I think I'll keep you guessing. It is really in good shape.

I see you looking at my Christmas tree. It stays out all year long. I love the way it sparkles in the sun. It makes me happy! The table is oak and very old. It was a wedding present years ago from my cousin Georgia.

This table is my snowflake table because I think it looks like a snowflake. Don't you love it! It is another Goodwill find. The roses are from my husband for Valentine's Day.

In the other corner I noticed you admiring my bicycle. It has leather wheels and seat. I'm not sure how old it is but it is another favorite peice we own. I bought it years ago at a flea market in NY.

This is the view from my entry way......You can see my table is set for dinner. I haven't taken my Valentine decorations down yet. Love is still in the air at our house!

I have had such a good time!
I feel like we have talked for hours! I loved having you here. You'll have to stop by and keep track of my progress. I'm never too busy to stop and have tea with a friend. It was so much fun, talking girl talk.
Please come back and visit. Did I tell you, I loved having you!

Thank you to Susan at BNOTP for hosting Tablescape Thursday.

Happy Valentine's Day

I had so much fun doing this post...

We will spend Valentine's Day dinner in our dining room.

You can still see boxes.......

I have two different  place settings.

This one has the round bowl......

I used a pleated white plate and a red charger. The gold & white plates & bowls are from Marshal's. I wrapped a "Dove" rose in the gold napkin and tied it with a  ribbon.

This one has the heart bowl......

I bought the heart bowls at Michael's for $0.49 each!
I bought eight.

I used different candlesticks and grouped them together.

Gold sheer material is draped down the center for texture. The gold tablecloth & napkins were given to me by my friend Shelley.

I put pink roses in square candle holders to complete the centerpiece.

A little crown I bought at Michael's filled with candy kisses.

A picture of the centerpiece.

This is my buffet set for coffee.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day...
go and do something special for yourself!

Thank you to Susan at BNOTP for hosting Tablescape Thursday this week. Please visit as many tablescapes as you can and leave a message.

Blessings My Friend,

Matthew 22:37–39
Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
