I went to a new dentist today and when I came home I was still numb and hurting. I completely forgot in all my pain!
A few days ago, I unpacked my squirrels and they have been sitting on my kitchen table, so my inspiration came from them.....this is too funny! The movers labeled the box they were packed in, Evil Squirrels!
I have been laughing the whole time I set this table. I wonder what my husband is going to say when he sits down to dinner tonight......and sees garden squirrels!
Well, it turned out nice! Just a little different for me.....
but everything goes together!
Chargers are a green-blue and I bought them at a thrift store.
The white ruffle plates and bowl (Sieubenville, Ivory) are also thrift finds! I have eight plates but only two bowls.
I collect pitchers and this one was a gift from my friend, Gretchen.
My Happy (evil) Squirrels!
They were on our pond in Buffalo.
A Christmas Tree Store find years ago.
My salad bowl that I bought years ago.
The frog was given to me by my friend Ann from Schenectady, NY
The lantern is from Pottery Barn. I bought it at Goodwill in Buffalo.
The vase is from Kirkland's.
The green flowers are from my friend, Rutha. She lived with us for two years. Now has a baby of her own. Missing them.
The yellow beads are pop-it beads....
I just bought them on line from La Mona Lisa.
Well there you have it, an attempt by me at a different kind of table. A squirrelee one at that......I did have a good time creating it. I am finally trying to think outside of the box!
Thank you to Susan at BNOTP for hosting this fun event every week. I do love playing with dishes! I hope you visit as many blogs as you can to see all the beautiful tablescapes! Remember to leave comments because we need your support!
Thank you for stopping by Sweetladyelaine's.
Remember to Praise Jesus for all your earthy possessions!
He owns all!
Blessings My Friend,
Your squirrels are cute! My cat loves to chase the squirrels in our backyard. Of course he never is fast enough to catch them and those squirrels love to mock him from up high in the tree!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of your tablescape is wonderful too!
That's a Make Me Smile table, and isn't that what it's all about? How can you not be happy sitting at that table?
ReplyDeleteYou've just encouraged me to "think outside the box". With all the things I have around here, I should come up with something interesting. Thanks for the SMILE.
Linda
I think your creative juices were flowing today.....the "evil" squirrels made me laugh.....that was a funny story!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the dentist--ugh a necessary evil. Anyway, your table turned out adorable. I love it when things appear that maybe weren't meant to be there, such as your "evil" squirrels!! So cute! For something not planned, this table turned out quite lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYou collect like I do....a little here and a little there. That is the best way, isn't it? I too have fun creating with dishes each week. ...I had two lanterns just like yours and lost them (somehow) in our last move. Love yours. Great job. Lori L
ReplyDeleteHi sweet lady! Your "evil" squirrels do look happy and so cute! I do like your floral dishes. I have never seen that pattern. Enjoy your pretty table! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour evil squirrels look quite at home on your table!
ReplyDeleteLove how you pulled it all together, even though you're just back from the dentist. I probably would have gone to bed! Anyway, everything looks wonderful! ~Delores
I hope you are feeling better. I know what that is like. Love your garden like tablescape with your evil demons.lolPretty good for a guickie tablescape.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love the happy squirrels!...Christine
ReplyDeleteHow hilarious about the evil squirrels! Our movers labeled a huge box of hats "hates," which has become a family joke. "Don't forget your hate!" I'm glad you're getting unpacked and feeling settled enough to set tables! Yes, we do need to plan a Texas Tablescaper gathering!
ReplyDeleteSquirrels are so much fun to watch in the field behind the house...they have so much fun scampering around...yours would fit right in...no, they aren't evil, just full of mischief!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty soup plates, nice and spring-y.
Have a great weekend, Elaine.
Dentist is the worse! Hope you feel better by now.
ReplyDeleteI love the squirrels, they brought a smile to my face. I love your tablescape for today, so crisp and fresh.

How cute is that! Now you've got me thinking about the pieces of garden sculpture I've got outside. I think I'm going to have to do one of these bring-the-outdoors-in tables. Yours is just plain FUN.
ReplyDeleteAhh this is truely swreet! What a happiness table!
ReplyDeleteI have missed you!
Have a wonderful weekend.
